Feel Better. Move Better. Recover Smarter.

An effective, non-invasive therapy that works alongside your personalized care plan

PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. During a session, you relax comfortably while precisely controlled electromagnetic pulses are delivered through an applicator placed near the area being addressed. The goal is to support the body’s natural recovery processes and help you return to the activities that matter to you.

At Better Chiropractic, PEMF is never a one-size-fits-all treatment. We evaluate your symptoms, health history, and goals to determine whether it may be appropriate for you and how it can complement chiropractic care, rehabilitation, soft-tissue work, or exercise.

What Is PEMF Therapy?

Targeted electromagnetic pulses—without needles, injections, or medication

Every cell in the body depends on electrical and chemical activity. PEMF devices generate pulsed electromagnetic fields that pass through clothing and tissues while creating the tolerable sensation of an electrical shock.

PEMF has been studied in a range of clinical settings. Depending on the patient and the treatment goal, it may be used as an adjunct to help support comfort, circulation, tissue recovery, mobility, and physical rehabilitation. Responses vary, and PEMF is not a replacement for appropriate medical diagnosis or treatment.

Better Chiropractic uses the high-intensity PER 2000 PEMF system—one of the highest-intensity professional PEMF systems available. Treatment intensity is individualized by adjusting the applicator’s distance from the patient and its placement relative to the treatment area and central nervous system. We begin at a comfortable level and gradually increase the intensity according to each patient’s tolerance and treatment goals.

Why PEMF Intensity Matters

High-intensity PEMF—precisely adjusted for you

PEMF intensity decreases rapidly as the applicator moves farther away from the body. This means a higher-intensity system provides greater flexibility when targeting deeper areas while still allowing the treatment to be adjusted for each patient.

Better Chiropractic uses the professional-grade PER 2000, capable of producing extremely high-intensity magnetic pulses. Unlike many lower-intensity wellness devices, the PER 2000 allows us to vary the effective intensity by adjusting the applicator’s position and distance from the body.

We begin at a comfortable level and gradually increase the intensity according to the patient’s response, tolerance, and treatment goals. This individualized approach allows us to deliver a brief, focused treatment rather than relying on prolonged exposure from a low-intensity device.

What Can PEMF Support?

An additional tool for recovery, mobility, and symptom management

PEMF may be considered as part of a broader care plan for people dealing with muscle or joint discomfort, stiffness, sports or overuse injuries, slow recovery after activity, or reduced mobility. It may also be incorporated into rehabilitation when clinically appropriate.

The best results usually come from matching the right therapy to the right person. We do not promise that PEMF will cure a condition or work for everyone. Instead, we assess your needs, explain reasonable expectations, and track how you respond.

What to Expect During a PEMF Session

Relax comfortably while we tailor the treatment to you

Your first visit begins with a conversation about your symptoms, relevant medical history, and goals. If PEMF is appropriate, we take you through a basic charge, then position the applicator over or near the target area and select individualized settings.

Most people remain fully clothed and simply relax during treatment. You may feel pulsing or muscle response depending on the settings, but treatment should remain tolerable. Session length and frequency vary according to your condition, goals, and response.

PEMF can be used on its own or combined with chiropractic care, soft-tissue therapy, corrective exercise, or rehabilitation when that combination makes clinical sense.

Is PEMF Therapy Right for You?

Schedule an evaluation at Better Chiropractic in Gilbert

PEMF is not appropriate for everyone. Tell us before treatment if you have an implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker or insulin pump, are pregnant or may be pregnant, have a seizure disorder, active bleeding, a blood-clotting concern, cancer, or any other significant medical condition. We may recommend medical clearance or a different approach.

If pain, stiffness, or a stubborn injury is keeping you from doing what you enjoy, let’s find out whether PEMF belongs in your care plan. We will explain the options, answer your questions, and help you choose the next step without pressure.

Individual results vary. PEMF is an adjunctive wellness and rehabilitation service and is not intended to diagnose, cure, or replace necessary medical care.
