New Years Resolutions and Your Health

With 2019 upon us, many people are beginning to consider their resolutions for the New Year. Most resolutions revolve around our health. This can sometimes result in stress as we assess our lives and worry about whether we’ll be able to commit and follow through on those resolutions. So while most resolutions concentrate on physical health, we want to take this chance today to remind you about how important your mental health is, and how Better Chiropractic could help.

Evidence suggests that chiropractic therapy can help to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and decrease physical stress on our spinal discs and nerves. These changes often lead to reduced mental stress and a sense of relaxation. Research shows us time and time again that those who receive Chiropractic care report having a higher quality of life than those who don’t, so if that is something you’re looking for in a New Year’s resolution, it’s a great way to start.

Even if you aren’t having pain, many of our patients find that getting regular care once every 4-6 weeks keeps them feeling at the top of their game. Many patients also take that chance to ‘treat themselves’ and add on a massage with one of our fabulous therapists--talk about a pick-me up! We’re also able to recommend exercises and postural tips based on your needs to help you stay active and reduce chances of future injury.

Here are a just a few more tips and advice for you to remember when making your health goals for the coming year:

  • First, make small but specific changes. For example, if you don’t already go to the gym, you should niether set yourself up for failure by resolving to go to the gym everyday next year, nor simply tell yourself “I’m going to be more active”. Instead, make a goal to get a gym membership and go at least once a week, or choose tmaybe just decide to substitute water for soda.
  • Second, remember that research shows Chiropractic improves quality of life and is a great way to prevent injury, improve performance, and reduce stress.

From the team at Better Chiropractic, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
